Diverse Changes

There has been a lot of talk on the radio the last couple of days about, basically, the importance of stupidity. Stupid meaning, in this case, not knowing. If you don’t know, you search, discover, are refreshingly open to possibilities. That is where the best of my work happens. Those dumb paintings are the ones that teach me, educate me.

In the process of cleaning up my house, emptying closets, sorting books and papers, I also brought one of my recent paintings up into my living space. This is one of those paintings I need to look at more in order to understand how it happened.

About leyaevelyn

About thirty years ago, I moved from New York City to rural Nova Scotia. For an artist, it is a good place to live. Spacious and quiet. Despite the beautiful scenery and frequently grey skies, my abstract paintings focus on color, its expressive qualities and how it creates form and space.
