Ever since I saw a cayote on the road a couple of months ago, I haven’t wanted to go into the woods alone. I’ve missed it dearly. I used to take Lila for a long walk by the brook several times a week. A couple of days ago a friend, her dog, Lila and I hit the trail. It was a great pleasure. The bears and the cayotes seem to have taken a rest from this neighborhood for the past three weeks: no sitings. That’s good. Meanwhile I’ve had the lake to play in.

About leyaevelyn

About thirty years ago, I moved from New York City to rural Nova Scotia. For an artist, it is a good place to live. Spacious and quiet. Despite the beautiful scenery and frequently grey skies, my abstract paintings focus on color, its expressive qualities and how it creates form and space.

I am sitting in the only room with AC, feeling definitely more than a bit warm (high today was high 90s) with a wet towel over my shoulders.

And just looking at your photo has made me feel about ten degrees cooler!
